Every role on this board is held to a standard.
Candidates answer these postings because this board has rules most boards don’t, and consequences when they’re broken. These are those rules, set and enforced by Callback Hiring LLC (“Callback,” “we”). They apply to every role, on every tier, with no exceptions for paying customers.
1. The role is real
A posting must be an actual, open position your organization intends to fill now — not a pipeline builder, a talent pool, a market test, or a repost of someone else's opening. Ghost jobs are the industry disease this platform exists to cure.
2. The company is real
You are who you say you are, posting for your own organization. A new organization's free first role is reviewed by a person before it goes live; every paid or member role requires a valid card on file — a cost that fraud avoids. Impersonating a company, or posting on behalf of one without authority, is the fastest way off the platform.
3. The pay is stated, honestly
Every role carries a good-faith base-salary band no more than 25% wide — the platform will not accept a posting without one. This is also the law for NYC roles (NYC Human Rights Law; NY Labor Law 194-b). A band you would not actually hire within is not a good-faith band.
4. Candidates never pay, ever
A posting may not ask candidates for money, equipment purchases, training fees, crypto transfers, or 'starter kits' — before, during, or after hiring. Any request for payment or financial information from applicants is treated as fraud and removed without notice.
5. The description is accurate
The title, duties, location, and on-site requirements describe the actual job. Bait-and-switch postings — advertising one role to recruit for another, or 'fully remote' roles that are not — violate the standard.
6. No discriminatory requirements
Postings may not state or imply preferences based on race, color, creed, age, national origin, citizenship status (beyond lawful work-authorization requirements), gender, sexual orientation, disability, marital status, or any characteristic protected by the NYC Human Rights Law and other applicable laws.
7. You answer the people who apply
Applying here costs a candidate one of a limited number of applications, so an answer is part of the deal: every applicant receives a decision within seven days of your shortlist. Miss that deadline and the role comes off the board, unanswered candidates get their applications back, and the miss goes on your public record.
- Before going live: a new organization’s free first posting is reviewed by a person; paid and member postings require a valid card on file — a cost that fraud avoids. Every posting passes automated field checks (a salary band inside the width cap, stated requirements), and account activity is monitored for fraud signals.
- While live: every role carries a “report this role” link. Reports go to a person; reporting is never automatic removal, so mass reporting cannot be weaponized.
- Removal: a posting that violates a standard comes down. You get an email naming the standard, every applicant is notified and made whole, and you can appeal by replying — a person reads every appeal, and a wrongly removed role goes back up promptly. The exception: postings removed for suspected fraud, illegality, or candidate-safety risk come down without notice.
- Fees: a posting removed for violating these standards is not refunded. If we remove a compliant posting for our own operational reasons, you get a refund or credit.
